Nano Brows create less trauma in the skin leading to less discomfort during the service, less scar tissue, an easier healing process, and longer lasting results. This technique is perfect for anyone looking to enhance their natural brow shape with a natural and undetectable result. Combination brows

The best of both worlds! Combination Brows are made up of both Nano Hairstrokes and Powder Shading to create a natural, or dramatic brow. This service is a great option for those who prefer the look of hairstrokes but are lacking natural hair, that want their brows to look more dense, prominent, or slightly filled in. It can also be customized to look perfectly filled in the back half of the brow with natural fluffy hairstrokes in the front. Combination brows allow for even more customization depending on your brow goals.  If you're lacking natural density in part of your brows, powder shading will help Nano Hairstrokes to blend.

Step 1: Blot the tattoo every 15-20 mins with a clean tissue regardless on if you can see the fluid building. The goal is to remove any lymphatic fluid that's forming to avoid scabbing later on in healing.

Before bed: Wipe with a damp cotton round or antiseptic wipe to remove any dried plasma on the skin.

Step 2: After 24 hours: With a gentle circular motion, start cleansing with an anti-bacterial gentle cleanser. Clean, rinse, and pat dry twice a day for 7-10 days.

If skin becomes too tight and dry from healing or soap used, apply a very thin layer of ointment. Remember, if it's shiny it's too much ointment. Do not over use.

AVOID water exposure, sun exposure, makeup, sweating, and contact of anything non-sterile on the tattoo 7-10 days after treatment.

DAY 1-3: Brows will be deep in tone, possible warm-toned, pronounced, and darker than how they heal.

DAY 4-7: Brows will be flakey, patchy, and itchy. Do NOT pick or scratch!

DAY 7-14: Brows are in the light stage, appearing muted and soft in color. The pigment isn't "going away", as the skin is just in it's natural exfoliate state and the pigment will soon reappear.

DAY 14+: Pigment starts to reappear gradually.

Do you offer consultations?

Complimentary consultations are available in person, and virtually. If scheduling a virtual consultation, Miche will contact you 24-72 hours prior to your scheduled time with a link and/or details necessary for the consultation. Virtual Consultations are available via Zoom, Facetime, and Phone. In person consultations take place at Xenith, located at 211 E. Broad St., Richmond, VA. 23219, unless otherwise specified for guest spots.

Consultations are not required prior to scheduling your cosmetic tattoo (unless you have previous cosmetic tattoos from another artist). Each service allows for consulting to take place during the beginning of each appointment; where we cover: shape, design, color(s), expectations, long term care, etc. There are several factors that would disqualify someone from being a candidate, such as currently being pregnant, nursing, recent/current use of Accutane, having any previously tattooed work(see below for details), etc. If you have additional questions, feel free to schedule your complimentary consultation or send an email to michereevetattoo@gmail.com

There is no deposit required for consultations, and no requirement to schedule a service if you schedule a consultation.

What is the difference between body tattooing and cosmetic tattooing?

At Xenith, we use the most advanced and modern Cosmetic Tattoo techniques and pigments, leading to hyper-realistic results that last longer and age gracefully as they fade. Cosmetic tattooing is customized to enhance the natural features of a client via eyebrow, lip blush, freckle, facial hair, and restorative tattooing. We use modern pigments that are made for the face, heal much softer, and fade from the skin faster than body tattoo ink. Although cosmetic tattooing is considered to be semi-permanent, the longevity for each client is individualized due to variety in how rapidly pigment is metabolized, skin type, and various lifestyle factors.

Due to the fading of pigment as time passes, there is room for fluidity within shaping and styling the tattoo as our faces may change with time.

Does cosmetic tattooing hurt?

Minimal to Moderate discomfort is reported from most clients. Topical Numbing Agents with Lidocaine are used prior to, and during each cosmetic tattoo. Pain threshold levels vary from person to person and every effort is made to ensure you remain comfortable for the entirety of the procedure. Please note you may have increased sensitivity to discomfort levels if you: are getting tattooed during your menstrual cycle, are a frequent smoker (causing topical anesthetics to not last as long), or if you have been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia or other Chronic Illnesses affecting nerves and overall pain level.

Discomfort, sensitivity to the touch, inflammation, redness, and bruising is possible and normal following any cosmetic tattoo procedure.

How long does cosmetic tattooing last?
Cosmetic tattoo treatments are considered semi-permanent and will not wash off, however, they will fade over time (1-5 years) and may need to be refreshed every 1-2 years (depending on genetics and lifestyle). Frequency of touch-ups depends on a number of factors including: diligence of the client towards planning ahead and following aftercare protocols, the pigment color used (lighter colors fade faster-Blondes), lifestyle (sun exposure), skin type (oily or dry), and if any chemical peels (AHA, BHA, Retinols) come into contact with treated areas. Please note that final results CANNOT be guaranteed as each unique skin type will hold pigments differently and break down at different rates. We will re-evaluate how your skin has received the pigment at your 8-week Follow Up appointment and make any changes necessary. Follow Up’s are normal for cosmetic tattoo procedures, with each new procedure requiring at least 2 visits. The initial procedure, then touch up procedure about 6-12 weeks later(depending on service).

How many sessions are needed?

For all clients, a minimum of two treatments is needed for ALL procedures at least 6-12 weeks apart. With most procedures, the color looks dramatically lighter after the first week or two. Some clients prefer this, while others opt for a bolder look at their follow up session. At your first follow up, we will assess the color retention and make adjustments as necessary. Everyone heals differently and at different rates. If your cosmetic tattoo does not heal perfectly the first time, do not worry! We can always go darker, add more colors, and create more density at your next appointment(Natural Semi-Permanent Makeup is built in layers for more natural, subtle look. NEVER a one & done process. NOT receiving a Touch Up (within 6-10 weeks) will leave your procedure incomplete and not finished & additional cost will apply!

*It is rare, but three treatments( 1 initial and 2 follow ups) may be needed for: those who did not follow aftercare instructions, lighter hair colors, people with autoimmune disorders, oily skin types, color correction, rework, & exercise enthusiasts to achieve dimension and realism. Third session is at the artists discretion.

What factors will effect my cosmetic tattoo?

  • NOT properly following the provided aftercare instructions.

  • Sun exposure: The sun will extremely soften the look of your tattoo, so sunblock should be used (once healed) to prolong your enhancement.

  • The regeneration of skin cells: The longer the regeneration takes, the longer the pigment holds.

  • The speed at which the skin absorbs the pigment: The slower the absorption, the longer the pigment will hold.

  • The choice of color: Some colors fade quicker than others, e.g. a blonde color will fade quicker than a dark brown color.

  • The area of treatment: Enhancements to the face, for example, fade more quickly due to constant exposure.

  • Bleeding during the procedure: Any bleeding during the tattooing procedure will reduce the amount of pigment absorption. Alcohol, fish oils, and certain medications act as blood-thinners and should not be taken prior to and following your appointment. If you are on a blood thinner medication, you MUST get an approval from your doctor to lower or eliminate your dose before the procedure.
